Day01

Arrival in Tokyo

Overnight Tokyo

Airport pickup and transfer to the hotel. Celebrate afternoon Mass at Takanawa Church if arrival time permits, visit the Imperial Palace East Gardens—or Outer Gardens—and gather for a welcome dinner.

Day02

Mount Fuji day trip

Overnight Tokyo

Celebrate Mass at Fujiyoshida Catholic Church, then visit Arakurayama Sengen Shrine and the spring-fed ponds of Oshino Hakkai before returning to Tokyo.

Day03

Tokyo to Nagasaki

Overnight Nagasaki

Fly to Nagasaki and begin at Nishizaka with Mass and a visit to the Twenty-Six Martyrs Monument and Museum. Conclude with panoramic evening views from Mount Inasa.

Day04

Shimabara Peninsula

Overnight Nagasaki

Reflect at the Unzen martyrdom memorial, celebrate Mass at Shimabara Catholic Church and visit the Wooden St. Mary Memorial Hall before returning to Nagasaki.

Day05

Nagasaki Catholic heritage & peace

Overnight Nagasaki

Celebrate Mass at Hongōchi Church, visit Ōura Cathedral and Nyokodō, then continue to Peace Park, the hypocenter and Atomic Bomb Museum.

Day06

Nagasaki to Nara & Osaka

Overnight Osaka

Travel by Shinkansen to Shin-Osaka and continue to Nara. Celebrate Mass at Nara Catholic Church, then visit Nara Park, Tōdai-ji and Kasuga Taisha before transferring to Osaka.

Kyoto martyrs & Nijō Castle

Overnight Osaka

Celebrate Mass at Kyoto Kawaramachi Church, pass the Kagiya-chō memorial to Kyoto’s fifty-two martyrs and explore UNESCO-listed Nijō Castle.

Arashiyama & Golden Pavilion

Overnight Osaka

Celebrate Mass at Nishijin or Kawaramachi Church. Walk through Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, see Togetsukyō Bridge, visit Kinkaku-ji and explore the historic Gion district.

Day09

Historic Kyoto & tea ceremony

Overnight Osaka

Visit Kiyomizu-dera and walk Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka. Participate in a traditional tea ceremony, celebrate Mass at Fushimi or Kawaramachi Church, and visit Fushimi Inari Taisha.

Osaka & departure

Journey concludes

Celebrate morning Mass at Tamatsukuri Catholic Church when flight time permits, visit Osaka Castle and transfer to the airport for departure.
